Arkoma High School and Middle School celebrated "67" day today. Unbeknownst to most students, today marked the 67th day of learning. Teachers came prepared to have fun in today's learning. Aside from silly dances and chants (and matching shirts), teachers came with seriously fun activities of various kinds. Please take a moment to ask what your students learned on 6-7 day. Students were challenged in math, researched the 67th element on the periodic table, did group activities, and wrote about "67 town", to name a few activities. Trends can be viewed as annoying to some, but we chose to meet students where they live. Themes bring joy and energy to learning, so I would like to thank my staff for taking extra time to provide a great day of learning and my students for engaging! ~ Spears

We would like to remind high school and middle school students and families that students need to be sure to complete Friday's virtual day assignments and studies. If students missed class today, they should reach out to teachers to make sure they know expectations. Students should also check email and Google Classrooms tomorrow to check for updates and assignments. Students are expected to complete work (not only for grades, but as evidence of attendance during the virtual day of learning- they could be counted absent otherwise). Arkoma cheer & football are hosting a rally @ 2 today in the new gym! High school will be attending and invites fans to join us in sending off both teams for important contests. Our football team will playing an important game in Cherokee on Friday. They must win to advance in playoffs. This will also be the last opportunity to get fans in sync with the cheer team for their state competition @ Tulsa Union High School at 9 AM Saturday. Crowd participation is important to them getting a title. Go Mustangs!

We are giving Arkoma families the opportunity to help out other Arkoma families who might be experiencing a difficult time during this Christmas season. If you or a group you are associated with would like to take part in purchasing gifts for some of our students, please call Mrs. Morgan at 918-875-3549 or email her at emorgan@arkoma.k12.ok.us

You can come to her office and pick an Angel off the tree, the information about your Angel can be emailed, or we can send home the gift information with your student. Gifts do not have to be wrapped and will need to be returned to Mrs. Morgan no later than Friday, December 12.
