Here are a few notes from the high school and middle school campuses regarding the next couple of days:
-Students who typically park at the school are asked to park at the First Baptist Church parking lot on Thursday in order to provide room for parade staging.
-Students are expected to be at school Thursday and Friday. A part of the educational process and our objectives as a school are to foster teamwork, creativity, service, and cooperation. These attributes prepare our students for a successful future, and without them, they face a difficult future. The celebrations regarding homecoming create a natural opportunity for this to flourish. Students skipping school will be counted absent and considered truant.
-Both the middle school and the high school will share the 11:00 lunch period on Thursday.
-At 11:30, students in the parade will load up & non-parade students will board buses to go to the elementary school. Students will be expected to watch the parade with their class sponsors if they are not in the parade. Students are not allowed to drive to the parade.
-The parade begins at noon and the community pep rally at the football field will follow. Students will then ride buses back to our campus.
-Students must check out from the office upon return if parents are checking them out. If students go missing before the end of the day, they will be counted absent and considered truant.
-Behavioral expectations for students throughout these events are high and are expected to be observed.
-The homecoming dance will be postponed to another date.
-We thank the community for their participation and support in a wonderful celebration and for creating lasting memories for our Mustang family.

Update on Tuesday's elementary basketball games: 3rd-4th boys will play first, then 5th-6th boys, followed by 3rd-4th girls and finally 5th-6th girls. First game starts at 4:30PM.

Biology 2 and Culinary classes collaborated for a fun class project!
Sophomores will be participating in the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, October 15th, at 9 AM. Please make sure they are well-rested and on time to school to take this valuable and important assessment! This test helps give them an understanding of their progress toward goals with the ACT and helps the school understand progress as well. This data will help drive how instruction is shaped to meet our students' needs, so accurate data through best efforts is needed. Even if a student does not believe they have plans that would necessarily be impacted by the ACT, it is helpful for many life decisions. Thank you for your help in encouraging our students to do their very best!

8th and 9th graders will be taking the pre-Act on Tuesday, October 14th, and the 10th grade will take it on Wednesday. Tuesday's tests will begin at 9. Please make sure students are well rested and ready to go. This not only helps provide data to understand how students are progressing toward the ACT, but it will help us with decisions in instruction throughout the year. Thank you for

Congratulations to our 3rd/4th-grade boys on winning the Wister Basketball Tournament today. They won the championship game 14-7! Maverick Chestnut was named the tournament MVP!
Our FCCLA students traveled today to Carl Albert to attend the district leadership conference. Grace Ann Johnson was going to be singing the opening national anthem. Great job Grace Ann!
We are adding a 5th/6th grade game against Trinity this Thursday, October 9th. That game will start at 5PM and it will be followed by the JH game at 6PM. Those games will be played at Hunt's Park in Ft. Smith.
